Royston Station is a 40,000-acre working property located near Longreach in the heart of Outback Queensland. The farm produces Wagyu cattle and goats. Besides the hard yakka, it’s also a peaceful escape where you can unwind and enjoy the beauty of the bush. As a family-run enterprise, Royston Station is also about people. We love creating places, spaces, and opportunities for others to become part of the story that unfolds in the place we proudly call home.
what we do

We produce premium Wagyu Fullblood cattle and goats for meat, running 1,800 head of Wagyu cattle and 5,000 goats. Alongside livestock operations, we are committed to sustainable land management and caring for the natural environment for future generations.

There are 3 renovated rustic cottages, each with cooking facilities and modern amenities, that sit close to our man-made baby lake. Click here to view.
Hip-camp is in development.
venue
hire
There is a lovely rustic shearing shed suitable for small group workshops, team building or functions. Click here to view. Contact us for more information.
bird watching
We’re pleased to provide a current list of birds spotted at Royston Station. If you capture a photo of your sighting, show us and we’ll happily add it to the list. Happy birdwatching!
work experience
We enjoy sharing farming life with uni students on work placements, school groups & youth organisations looking for a rural experience.
mineral soak
We have created an elevated warm artesian swimming hole with a view. Settle in with drinks and nibbles as the sun sets into the western horizon. Unwind in the soothing mineral waters beneath the stars.

going…
This spot is perfect for a relaxing float in the warm bath temperature, or you can also burn some energy if that’s what needed. Build a little fire on the bank and you are set for a rustic BBQ picnic tea. The turkeys nest is on top of a flattened earth mound so you can see for miles all around you. Listen to the birds as they chatter contently in the surrounding shrubs then be treated with a glorious sunset. See if you can spot the first star that peeps out to be joined soon after by the multitude that make up the big night sky out this way. You will feel small that’s for sure, but that is not always such a bad thing.
